Dead Man’s Island

My take on a drink from a Polite Provisions pop-up at Chicago’s Lost Lake that is a tropical riff on the decadent 70s dessert drink the Golden Cadillac
The tropical notes in the coconut cream are boosted by the banana liqueur and allspice and complemented by the oak and cinnamon notes from the overproof bourbon, the bit of walnut liqueur, and bittersweet amaro. Definitely a night cap or substitute for dessert, but very tasty
1 oz Bourbon (the extra oomph from an overproof bottle helps reduce the sweetness a bit)
1 oz Coconut Cream (1:1 mix of unsweetened coconut milk and 2:1 simple syrup with a pinch of salt)
.5 oz Amaro Montenegro (bittersweet Amaro from Bologna in Italy)
.5 oz Banana Liqueur (Giffard)
1 tsp Allspice Liqueur
1 tsp Nocino (an Italian walnut liqueur)
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. No garnish
