Cool Down The Pace

A refreshing whisky highball riff with subtle pops of mango and cardamom to try to beat the heat ðŸ¥
The subtle orchard fruit, ginger, and spice notes in the Japanese style whisky works nicely with the mango flavors from the Eau de vie and sparkling water while a few dashes of cardamom complements the spice notes in the whisky and the barspoon of rich simple syrup gives a bit of body. The oils from the lime twist combine with the floral notes of the whisky and the effervescence from the club soda to yield a cooling sip with pleasant aroma
Add the following ingredients to a chilled Collins glass filled to the top with ice cubes:
1.5 oz Japanese (or Japanese style) whisky (Nikka Taketsuru, St George Baller, Suntory Hibiki or Yamazaki, etc)
.5 oz Mango Eau de Vie (Rhine Hall)
Barspoon (~1/4 tsp) Rich Simple Syrup (2 parts unrefined sugar of choice to one part water; stir until dissolved)
1 dash Scrappy’s Cardamom Bitters
Top with Soda Water (about 6 oz; Mango LaCroix here, but Lime, Berry, or Natural would also work) and garnish with a lime twist
