Come Sta, La Luna

A refreshing, bittersweet low ABV Daiquiri riff from Shae Minnillo of NYC’s Maison Premiere that packs a bit of funk and spice The bittersweet notes in the clear Aperitivo pair naturally with the flavor of the grapefruit while the cinnamon adds complementary baking spice notes, the unaged Cachaca adds a bit of grassy funk, and the splash of lemon balances out the acidity while dialing back the bitterness a bit. A great pre-dinner drink (or way to slow down closer to the end of a night out) .75 oz Luxardo Bitter Bianco (red aperitivo’s like Campari are the closest sub, but will result in darker drink) .25 oz Unaged Cachaca (Avua Prata, Novo Fogo Silver, etc) .75 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice .25 oz Fresh Lemon Juice .25 oz Cinnamon Bark Syrup (crush 3-4 sticks of cinnamon and toast until fragrant; add 1/2 C each granulated sugar and water and stir until sugar dissolves and mix is near boiling; dial heat down to low/medium and simmer 5 minutes before straining) Shake with ice and double strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube.
