Cold Blooded

A refreshing, flavor packed beer cocktail using the drink scaffold of Pamela Wiznitzer’s Cold in the Shadows
The peak season blood orange marries very nicely with the juicy bitterness of the Aperitivo/Campari while the orange and pineapple liqueurs pair wonderfully with the tropical flavors in the nice, hazy IPA
1 oz Campari/Aperitivo of choice (I’m a big fan of Leopold Bros and St George’s Bruto)
.5 oz Fresh Blood Orange Juice
.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz Honey Syrup (2 parts honey: 1 part warm water)
.25 oz Pineapple Liqueur (Giffard is best, closest sub might be Small Hand Foods Pineapple Gum Syrup)
.25 oz Mandarin Napoleon Liqueur (closest sub might be Grand Marnier)
Shake with ice, strain into Collins glass with ice cubes. Top with 1.5 oz tropical, hazy IPA (Temescal’s Big Spoon pictured, but there are many on the market). Garnish with a blood orange half wheel
