Cherry Pop

An excellent, crushable late-Spring/early Summer Sidecar/Sour riff from Jane Danger during her time at cocktail revival OG PDT ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’ The ripe cherry flavor is boosted by the Maraschino liqueur and it works very well next to the botanical notes in the gin and the bright/tart lemon while the simple syrup balances the acidity. One of my favorites during the (relatively) short cherry season! Muddle 2-3 ripe, pitted cherries in .5 oz Simple Syrup (1:1) Add: 2 oz Gin (Bottle that works well with citrus like Plymouth, Fordโ€™s, Four Pillars, etc is recommended) 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice .5 oz Maraschino Liqueur (Luxardo or Leopold Brothers; feel free to spike an additional 1/2 tsp of Kirsch too, if handy) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with crushed ice. Garnish with a pitted cherry
