Cape of Good Hope

A daiquiri/pina colada hybrid that brings flavors from Scandinavia, Northern Europe, and South Africa
The juniper, citrus peel, and caraway notes from the gin and aquavit are complemented by the leather, vanilla, and spice notes in the Rooibos tea while the lemon and strawberry add bright notes of fruit and citrus. The coconut cream adds richness and tropical flavor
1.5 oz Gin
.5 oz Aquavit (Barrel Aged version like Linie works better with other flavors in this drink)
.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.5 oz Rooibos Tea (Brewed, cooled)
Tsp Simple Syrup
1.5 oz Strawberry/Thai Basil/Coconut Cream*
Shake with ice and strain into chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Garnish with a basil leaf *2 parts strawberry purée (blender or food processor), 2 parts Thai basil syrup (equal parts granulated sugar and water; steep handful of basil in syrup on medium heat; simmer 5 min), 1 part unsweetened coconut milk
