Big Iron

A holiday appropriate hybrid riff on a Julep and a Stinger that will have visions of the Sugar Plum Fairy dancing through your head
The fruit notes in both the cognac and aged cachaca work very nicely with the plum Eau de vie (or slivovitz) to produce a pleasant, rounded fruit flavor that works nicely with both the honey and the peppermint and chocolate notes of the Amaro Nardini. A very refreshing after dinner sipper
1.25 oz Cognac (VSOP; Dudognon, Hine, etc)
.5 oz Plum Eau de Vie/Slivovitz (Plum brandy from Central and Eastern Europe, also made in the US from blue plums)
.25 oz Aged Cachaca (Avua Amburana, Novo Fogo Gold, etc)
.25 oz Amaro Nardini (Italian amaro with medium bittersweetness and notes of milk chocolate and menthol)
.25 oz Honey
Shake with one ice cube and strain into a chilled double rocks glass or julep tin with crushed ice. If handy, can garnish with a bouquet of fresh mint
