Baked Apple Toddy

A warm, comforting autumnal warmer from NYC drink whiz Sother Teague that is full of apple and baking spice flavors to warm you up as the weather cools The orchard fruit notes in the bonded apple brandy lend some oomph to the apple and baking spice flavors in the warm apple cider and cinnamon bark syrup while a splash of lemon helps lighten and brighten the drink and the apple bitters add a pleasant aroma while boosting the fruit notes Fill a thick glass or copper mug with hot water while assembling the following in a mixing glass: 1.5 oz Bonded Apple Brandy (Laird’s Bonded, Copper & Kings, etc) .5 oz Cinnamon Bark Syrup (Crush 3-5 Cinnamon sticks and add 1/2 C each granulated sugar and water; stir until sugar has dissolved under medium-low heat until near boiling. Turn down to low and simmer 5 minutes before straining) .25 oz Fresh Lemon Juice 2 dashes Barkeep Apple Bitters Heat a few ounces of fresh apple cider on stove Replace warm water in mug with stirred contents of mixing glass. Top with 1 oz warm apple cider. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg and an apple peel
