B.A.P.S.

A cooling, refreshing Pimm’s Cup riff from the recent Guilty Pleasure movie-themed menu at Pouring Ribbons 🥒
The botanical, spice, and fruit notes in the gin-based Pimm’s #1 provide the base flavors while the brandy gives the drink a bit of oomph while reinforcing the fruit notes. The splash of amaro adds a bittersweet note and a hint of orange peel, the lime provides needed acidity, the soda water some effervescence, and the cucumber bitters/mint highlight the botanical/herbal notes in the Pimm’s. Very refreshing
1.5 oz Pimm’s Cup #1 (gin-based liqueur with fruit/spice/herbal notes)
.5 oz Brandy (80-85 proof, want something with more fruit notes (like Bertoux or Daniel Bouju) than barrel-aged/VSOP and older options)
.25 oz Amaro Ciociaro (Italian amaro with mild bitterness and orange peel notes)
.75 oz Simple Syrup (1:1)
.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice
1 dash Cucumber Bitters (Bitter Truth)
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled Collins glass with ice cubes. Top with .75 oz Soda Water and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint
