A refreshing riff on the Tradewinds with spring/summer produce 🍓🥥🌿 The blend of rums have notes of subtle molasses and grassy sugarcane with a little pot still funk that work nicely with the fruit flavors of the muddled strawberry, the bright lime juice, and the pleasant aroma of the Thai basil. Coconut creme adds body and subtle complementary tropical flavor and the rhubarb bitters help bring together flavors while adding hints of tartness and vanilla. Delicious! Muddle 2-3 strawberries and 2-3 Thai basil leaves in .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice Add: 1.5 oz Blended Lightly Aged Rum (Probitas, El Dorado 3 yr, Flor de Cana, etc) .5 oz Unaged cachaca (Avua Prata or Novo Fogo Silver work well and bring notes of tropical fruit, grassy sugarcane, and a bit of funk) 1.5 oz Coconut Creme (equal parts mix of unsweetened coconut milk and 2:1 simple syrup; add a pinch of salt and stir until uniform) 1 dash Crude Rhubarb Bitters (Fee Brothers works as a sub) Shake with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Garnish with a strawberry, a few Thai basil leaves, and a cocktail umbrella #trackrecordslongerthanadc20aircraft
