A refreshing, summer-themed riff on a Strawberry Daiquiri with some complementary herbal and spice notes 🍓🥝🥒🍹
The blend of agricole and column still runs along with aquavit create a base with notes of citrus zest, grassy sugarcane, dill and star anise that work really nicely with the fresh muddled strawberry. The use of kiwi syrup and strawberry liqueur boost the juicy fruit notes while the fresh lime juice helps balance the drink with its acidity. The dashes of cucumber and Moroccan bitters add notes of green/bright vegetation and lemon-y sumac
Muddle 3-5 small strawberries in .25 oz Strawberry Liqueur (Giffard; strawberry syrup is closest sub)
Add:
1 oz unaged column still or blended lightly aged rum (Probitas, Plantation 3 Star, Rum Bar Silver, etc)
.5 oz Unaged Rhum Agricole (Rhum JM, Neisson, La Favorite, etc)
.5 oz Unaged Aquavit (Star-anise forward Krogstad is a nice addition)
.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz Kiwi Syrup (juice kiwi and add equal volume of granulated sugar; stir until dissolved)
1 dash Bitter End Moroccan Bitters (notes of sumac, preserved lemon, and other spices)
1 dash Bitter Truth Cucumber Bitters
