Ain’t It Easy

A rich yet bittersweet Negroni riff with notes of baking spice and dark chocolate 🥃🍫🍯
The baking spice and citrus zest notes in the Reposado tequila work in harmony with the cinnamon and light bittersweet notes in the Becherovka to offer some bold flavors to stand up to the grapefruit pith notes of the Campari and the bittersweet combined with cherry cola notes of the Mexican amaro. The sweet vermouth offers some cocoa and vanilla notes that work nicely with the honey/eucalyptus notes of the Forthave Marseille Amaro to offer body and additional bittersweet notes. A dash of chocolate mole bitters helps boost the cocoa and baking spice notes
1 oz Reposado Tequila (El Tesoro, Arette, Siembre Valles, etc)
.75 oz Campari (feel free to substitute red aperitivo of choice)
Tsp Amargo Vallet (Mexican Amaro with strong bittersweet notes along with touches of black cherry and cola)
.5 oz Sweet Vermouth (the cocoa and vanilla notes of Carpano work well here; Cocchi Vermouth di Torino is a good sub)
.25 oz Becherovka (Czech amaro with notes of cinnamon and mild bittersweet finish)
.25 oz Forthave Marseille Amaro (Honey and baking spice up front with eucalyptus/menthol notes and medium bittersweet finish)
1 dash Chocolate Mole Bitters (Bittermens, Scrappy’s, Miracle Mile, etc)
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a few ice cubes. Garnish with a lemon twist (expressing essential oils over surface of drink first)
