Aces and Eights

A full-bodied Old-Fashioned variation from Death & Co NY’s Jarred Weigand that is an excellent after-dinner drink for unwinding after a long day/week
The earthy reposado tequila has a butterscotch note that works well with bittersweet flavors from the Amaro and coffee liqueur while the Licor 43 provides a hint of vanilla and the mole bitters add a hint of chocolate and spice. The orange essential oils add a nice, round citrus aroma to each sip
2 oz Reposado Tequila (El Tesoro, Arette, Siete Leguas, etc)
.5 oz Amaro Meletti (Italian amaro with mild bittersweet notes and hints of caramelized sugar, cola, citrus peels, and mint)
1 tsp Coffee Liqueur (St George NOLA, Galliano Ristretto, etc)
1 tsp Vanilla Liqueur or syrup (Giffard Vanilla, Licor 43 both work, as would a vanilla bean simple syrup)
1 dash Chocolate Mole Bitters (Bittermens, Scrappy’s, Miracle Mile, etc)
Stir with ice and strain into a chilled double rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange twist
